Trip to DC: Chapter 2

Whats up Folks:

I guess for the past three or four weeks, its been about work for me. Work has been going good. I have been staying really busy. Last week, the main boss of Information Services, Mark Hartwig came down to New Windsor for a few days and I had the opportunity to have a great visit with him. I have continued to prep PC's and laptops. Also, I have been trying to clean our computer room out, trying to make it more organized. This last Thursday, I went back to Washington, D.C to work on the Brethren Witness Office computers. This is where one of my unit members works. I had spent a day and a half working the the computers and headed back on Saturday afternoon. It was great seeing everyone again. Thomas and I always have our regular debates when I go down there. Simon, Danielle, and Melani are doing great. Everyone in the house cool as well. If any of you read this blog, thanks for the hospitality and I will see you again next month. This week, the older adult BVS unit are here at New Windsor. I look forward to meeting them and telling my BVS story up to this point to them. I hope I can do some things with them while they are here. Everyone around here continues to show nothing but love. Makes it easy for me to stay here a second year in BVS and possibly a future career here at the center. I had the opportunity to help others out with their computer issues off duty which I feel good about. During the week I feel like an actual employee doing what I love to do here at the center. But when I get a chance to help a person on their personal computer issues, I feel like a BVSer. I look forward to whats coming up for the rest of the year. Until next time, Peace!

Freedom of Speech!

Family & Friends:

Its been a while since I last wrote but I feel the need to write about something important that I 100% believe in. This blog is entitled "Freedom of Speech". The freedom of speech is being able to speak freely without censorship. One thing about America should be that people have the right to say or write whatever they feel like it without any repercussion. But unfortunately that isn't always the case. An example would be when kids are in elementary or high school, they are forbidden to say what they want to say. Most students will get in trouble if they use profanity inside a classroom. I believe that the school systems are taking away a students right to freedom of speech. Another example would be an employee works at a job that he or she is uncomfortable with and doesn't like it their at whatsoever, and I believe that person should have the right to tell their boss what they think of them. But what happens after that, they get fired. Talk about taking away the right to freedom of speech. However I believe that people do have to control their behavior. We can't live in a society where people can go off on everyone because they have the right to. Everyone should have the right to say what they want to say, but they also have to do it in a right way. I believe that there are right and wrong ways of freedom of speech. If a person conducts himself in the right manner, that person should be able to say what they want. If that person acts like an idiot and treats others like idiots, should that person have the right to freedom of speech? Definitely debatable.

I have a couple of blogs that I write on. The most important thing about writing to me is writing without repercussion if I conduct myself in a manner that is suitable for myself, as well as the people around me. I believe I have done exactly that. I feel when I write, it comes from what I am feeling and 100% from the heart. I don't try to offend others, or companies, or anything else I can think of. When I write, that is what I feel at the time. I write on what I see and hear in my life. When other read my blog I am proud of everything that I wrote and that I was feeling whether it be in a positive or negative way. I feel like I am in my own little world and no fears of the outcome when I write. And that is the way it should be because, like I said before, I conduct myself the most integrity and respect for what I am writing about, positive or negative.

Another subject that I want to talk about is problems with others. If a person has a problem with another person, they should take it to them and not go behind that person's back and snitch on them. They need to handle their business face to face. Man to Man, or Woman to Woman. When a person goes behind a persons back and doesn't confront them on their problem, like the saying goes, they don't have enough "balls" to handle their own problem. I am thinking of another term as well but I will keep it clean on this one. If people have issues with what I say, write, or do, they should have enough common sense to come step to me and we can solve this issue like adults and not like children.

This is the most brutally honest blog that I have wrote, but like said, I have the right to be 100% honest with no repercussion (freedom of speech). With Love and Respect for All

REWARD OF SERVICE by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

The sweetest lives are those to duty wed,
Whose deeds both great and small
Are close-knot strands of an unbroken thread,
Where love ennobles all.
The world may sound no trumpets, ring no bells,
The Book of Life the slurring record tells.

Thy love shall chant its own beatitudes,
After its own like working. A child’s kiss
Set on thy singing lips shall make thee glad;
A poor man served by thee shall make thee rich;
A sick man helped by thee shall make thee strong;
Thou shalt be served thyself by every sense
Of service which thou renderest.
