Wow....1st post in September!

What's up ya'll:

It's me again. As you can tell not much has gone on in a month. Work has been work. Still trying to go strong. A couple of volunteers that worked has hosts here at the center left for the year or at least 6 months. We got a couple more leaving at the end of September. The one thing I can say is that these older adult volunteers here keep me from going insane. I mean, if it wasn't for them, I would be one lonely person here. They keep me being me. So as when some leave, others arrive and that gives me a chance to get to know some other folks. Ric and Jan Martinez, folks that volunteered last year are returning in November which I can't wait. They are really cool.

One of the young workers here at the center went off for college. She was working in the food service department and became a friend of mine. I am going to miss her a bit, but wish her well on an exciting journey called college.

This week, the new BVS unit is here for orientation. I am pretty excited for that because it should give me an opportunity to visit some of the BVS staff again. I don't know how much I am going to visit them, hopefully I can make a connection with them. Also, the 60th Anniversary of BVS is this weekend. I just found out that some of my unit will be attending one of the d
ays here in New Windsor. I think its great knowing they want to come. I been to DC and Elgin twice to see most of them, so now there coming to my "hood". And its on (in a positive way, LOL). Its going to be great seeing them as well as meeting a lot more BVSers from the past. I just wish I was more involved with the setup process since I am a BVSer serving here New Windosr, my new 'hood'. I will definitely share more after the weekend. Keep a look out on a new post a couple of days, a very special post coming up! Peace.
